GENERA NETWORKS WINS LAWSUIT AGAINST POSTCODE LOTTERY

Genera Networks and Norwegian national lottery Norsk Tipping have won a full victory in a Norwegian court of law with regard to the allegations made by Nova Media, the Dutch parent company of the Postcode Lottery. Nova Media had claimed that Genera and Norsk Tipping breached the Norwegian Marketing Act by producing a copy of the Postcode Lottery.“The decision in our and Norsk Tipping’s favour was expected by Genera and is clear in its wording”, said Jan Stocklassa CEO of Genera.Paraphrasing the court decision:”When comparing the different elements in the Postcode Lottery and Nabolaget (Note: Norwegian name for Nabor) the two concepts are seen as so different that it cannot at all be considered an imitation of an original product.” (Translated from Norwegian)

In The World Justice Report, Norway ranks number 1 (one) in the world for Civil Justice, which proves the value and integrity of a Norwegian ruling.

“Our game format Nabor is the only real geoposition lottery in the world. In a relatively small market like Norway we’re aiming for revenues in excess of €100 million in the second year of operation” said Jan Stocklassa, CEO. Other WLA-lotteries can be expected to launch Nabor following the court’s decision, possibly as soon as Q4 2013.

Norsk Tipping selected Genera’s game format Nabor after a six month long public procurement in competition with among others Geosweep and GTECH. Genera has two patents awaiting approval for Nabor.
